The wall made of talking robots were inspired by a snippet of the 1983 animated film "Unico and the Island of Magic," in which the villain uses a magic flute to turn people into creepy blocky dolls and forces them to stack together like living Lego bricks to form his castle.  (I saw this unsettling scene while channel surfing as a child without any context of what the holy heck was happening, and didn't even figure out what movie I was watching until almost thirty years later. It haunted me.)
The tank full of sinister orange fluid was from an entirely different anime film, but I'll let you figure that one out for yourself.

I kind of wanted to space this out over two pages, but I worry about this comic's pacing. I don't want to spend too much time talking about Sunglasses' issues when the other half of the cast is trying to escape a life and death situation.
Also, that's supposed to be Sunglasses staring maniacally into a computer in the first frame. I'm not sure it came out right. I should have drawn him from a different angle. I might have to redraw that frame.

That "On the other side of the planet" shouldn't have been necessary, but I had some trouble depicting pictorially that I was showing the other side. I could get by with less words if I was a just a little better at drawing all this. I guess the fact that I don't know what I'm doing is kind of my whole thing, though.
